The Farewell Tour

We tried to visit with as many of our nearest and dearest before we left. I didn't always remember my camera but here are some pictures from when I did. We are grateful to all of you for taking the time and miss you so much already!

Seven Years?

Today my little Parker turned seven. It's hard to believe he's that old! It just doesn't seem that long ago that I was lying in the hospital with him. I was holding him on my chest and although he was just a few hours old, he lifted his head and looked directly at me. It doesn't seem that long ago that he was learning to crawl or that he was learning to walk. That instead of talking everything came out "unk". It doesn't seem that long ago that he thought 'selfish' was an actual fish and drew one on the bathtub with his bath crayons, but he called it 'solo fish'. It doesn't seem that long ago that he became a big brother or that he loved Clifford but called him Flidded. It doesn't seem that long ago that we took the training wheels off his bike or attended his first soccer game. It doesn't seem that long ago that he had his first day of preschool or kindergarten! It's gone by so fast!

He has brought so much joy to our family and to everyone who knows him! He loves to make people laugh and has a gift for making them do it - even if it is just by saying "Subway, eat fresh!" in a silly voice! :]

I'm so grateful for him and just love him so much. I'm going to pray, pray, pray that the next seven years do not go by as fast as the last seven!

SnOw mUcH FuN!

Last Saturday we went to a little hill down the road to go sledding. We had so much fun and laughed and laughed watching the kids (especially Parker) bounce their way down the hill!

A rock made a jump and Parker decided to give it a try. He had fun until it made his back hurt :( Then he was done!

RIP Trooper, My Old Friend

I was hoping for a better start for the new year but unfortunately Aaron headed off to Houston today and ended up sliding off the road just outside of Green River, Wyoming and rolling our car. Luckily, he's ok. Molly was in the car and she's ok (a little confused why Aaron is trying to kill her!) but our car wasn't so lucky!

I'm really feeling grateful that at the last minute we changed plans. We were planning on leaving today as a family and decided the drive would be a bit crammed and a bit too much for our kids. We were given some buddy passes and we decided that Aaron would make the drive on his own once again, and I would fly with the kids in a week. As bad as it is and as frustrating as it is, I feel so blessed that Aaron and Molly weren't hurt and that my kids weren't in the car. It's a little scary to think of how much worse it could have been! Thankfully Someone was watching out for our family!

So, hopefully all will go well for our family for the rest of the year and we got the bad stuff out of the way early :]
