Kindergarten Program

Friday, Parker had his kindergarten program - how cute! I loved it! I can't believe how big and little he can seem all at the same time! Even though he was not very comfortable in front of the sea of parents and grandparents I know that he did his very best. Watching him sing his heart out and take little opportunities to flash me the "I Love You Sign" gives me the purest joy and pride! I am so blessed to have such amazing children!

Summer - Finally!

For our family, Memorial Day means SUMMER! Usually we spend the weekend camping/boating but it was just too cold! We did get to go to a dear friend's baptism, spend one day in the canyons with friends, and a rainy day at the movies. So although we were disappointed that we couldn't go camping, we made the best of it and had a great weekend!

Wild Animals

Wednesday we went to the zoo and just look at these wild animals!

We had a great time with Elizabeth, Nate and Max!

It was such a hot day we HAD to get ice-cream to cool off! Wearing it certainly does cool you off!

Afterwards, Parker, Anna and I went to This is the Place State Park to see what there was to see. Anna thought it was fascinating and couldn't stop asking me questions about the pioneers. We decided we'll have to go back sometime when we have more time.

After such a long fun day, they were tuckered out! Here's a picture from the ride home.

Fun in the Sun!

Well, we switched gears and went from winter to summer in about a week! We have had beautiful weather or as Anna describes it - glorious!

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at "Grandpa's Park". That's what my kids call it but everybody else calls it Sky Park. A bunch of friends and neighbors met there for a picnic. I think this is the third time we've done it and it's always so fun!

The Greatest Thing I've Ever Done!

I hope all you mother's out there had a wonderful Mother's Day! I sure did! Mother's Day is such a great day. It's a chance for me to show my mom I appreciate her which I very seldom do...pretty much once a year on Mother's Day and this year I'm grateful she's still here! After a rough year battling cancer and a couple of close calls our family is blessed to still have her around.

I am so grateful to be a mom. It's the best thing ever. Parker and Anna truly are my greatest accomplishment! Everyday I'm so amazed at what they can do and what they've learned and although I wish I could just freeze time and stop them from growing up it's exciting to see the two of them learning and growing. I love to see their own unique personalities shine in everyday events like walking to school - Parker tries to sneak up on every bird we see to see how close he can get before they fly away while Anna tries to rescue every potato bug she sees from accidentally being smushed! Although both can be frustrating when we're running late and trying to make it to school on time, it's these little everyday events that we should cherish! I know before too long they won't need me to walk them to school or even want me to walk them to school and potato bugs will hold very little interest. Someday dandelions won't be a token of love from my children but just weeds and I know someday the mountains of drawings of rainbows and hearts and stick figures of our family I receive from Parker and Anna daily will simply just stop as their interests change and grow. For now, I'm going to do my best to cherish every moment, to hang ever picture and cling to every dandelion!

Whoa - nice hair!

Our home is frequently visited by the hairdo fairy and she must really like Anna. Anna is always waking up with crazy hair. Here are some pics of Anna in the morning. Messy hair and all she is still our beautiful girl!

My JOY!

Parker and Anna are so cute. They sang a duet today in two separate church meetings. I didn't think they would actually go through with it but they practiced all week and did a GREAT job! I know how hard it was for them because they can be SO shy. I'm so proud of them!

Let's see...on to our week! We spent Monday at the park. We invited a bunch of friends from the neighborhood and went to have a picnic. Parker was outnumbered (as always) as he was the ONLY boy with a bunch of girls. We had a great time and enjoyed the nice day. We're still waking up to snow on the ground on occasion SO when the weather is nice, we try to take advantage!

Parker got a Kids Betty Crocker Cookbook from his Grandma Julie and has been so excited to cook anything out of it. Last week he made his friends some chocolate pudding cake and this week he made frozen pudding pops. He was so excited and the look on his face when we pulled the pop out of the cup was priceless!

On Saturday we had soccer - Parker scored 3 goals and Anna learned to fly! This is it for now! Have a wonderful week!
