Parker wanted to be Jack Sparrow this year for Halloween but unfortunately, we couldn't find a costume. I know! Weird! Anyway, his second choice was a vampire. So I went out and about to find a cape. Walmart, Target and two Halloween stores later I still had no cape. How hard could it be to sew one, I wondered. A cape has got to be pretty easy so I'll just make one! What a great idea! It will be WAY better than any cape I could buy! I picked out a pattern and got the material and everything I needed to make the cape. You know, I didn't think it would be hard but I never expected it to be as easy as it was....for me!

That's right. Not long into it, I got so frustrated that my sweet husband took it over and did it for me! What a great dad to give up so much time to make a cape for his little one for Halloween! As for me, well, I guess I'll just have to make sure he has plenty of time available next time I take on a sewing project! =]

Easy Bakin'
I always wanted an Easy Bake Oven so you can imagine the joy I felt when Anna got one for her birthday (thanks g.pa & g.ma!). Oh the fun we would have cooking up different treats, the memories we would create! I just couldn't wait. SO, while no one else was home Anna and I opened it only to find out that you need a lightbulb. Dang it! The plain old 100 watt-ers. We didn't have any so on the next trip to Walmart we would buy the lightbulb and continue with our cooking fun. I apparently didn't look closely at the instructions and got a soft white lightbulb which won't work. Dang it - AGAIN! On Aaron's next trip to Lowes he picked up lightbulbs which also were the wrong kind. By now, poor Anna was thinking she was NEVER going to be able to use her Easy Bake Oven and we were generating quite the stash of lighbulbs! Finally, a trip to Home Depot solved all our problems. We finally had THE lightbulb! We came home and Aaron (not me) baked up some delicious goodies with Anna.
